How Long Does Car Detailing Take? Real Times by Package

TL;DR

Maintenance details run 1.5 to 2 hours, Premium 2.5 to 3, and a Deep Clean 3.5 to 4. Here is what sets the clock for each package, and what pushes a job to the long end of its range.

How long does car detailing take is the question that comes right after price, and with a mobile service it matters even more, because the work happens where your car is already parked while the rest of your day keeps moving. The short answer: about 1.5 to 2 hours for a Maintenance Detail, 2.5 to 3 hours for a Premium Detail, and 3.5 to 4 hours for a Deep Clean. The useful answer is what decides where inside those windows your vehicle actually lands.

How Long Does Car Detailing Take by Package?

Each package is quoted as a window instead of a single number, because two sedans of the same year and model can be an hour apart in real work. Here is the full lineup:

PackageTime on siteSedanSUVTruck
Maintenance Detail1.5 to 2 hours$80$100$120
Premium Detail2.5 to 3 hours$150$180$210
Deep Clean3.5 to 4 hours$220$250$280

A Maintenance Detail is upkeep for a car that is already in decent shape, so it is the one most people can fit into a work morning. The Premium Detail adds meaningful interior time. The Deep Clean earns its four hours: it is a reset for a vehicle that has not had real attention in a while. What is included at each level is laid out on our detailing packages and pricing page.

Why does vehicle size change the estimate?

The time window stays the same across vehicle classes, but size decides where you land inside it. A compact sedan with clean carpet finishes near the bottom of its range. A three-row SUV or a crew cab truck brings more painted surface, more glass, more door jambs, more carpet and two or three extra rows of seating to work through, so it tends to sit at the top. That is also why the price steps up by class rather than by the hour.

What pushes a detail to the long end of its range?

Condition, not the calendar. South Florida is hard on vehicles in specific ways, and each of these adds real minutes.

Baked-on interior grime. Sunscreen, spilled coffee and dust that has sat in a hot car does not wipe off on the first pass. Plastics and vinyl that have been cooking through a Miami summer need dwell time and a second pass, and dwell time cannot be rushed without doing a worse job.

Sand and fine dust in the carpet. Beach sand works its way deep into carpet fibers and under seat rails. Getting it out is a vacuuming and agitation job, and it is one of the most common reasons an interior runs long.

Water spots and rain film on paint. Frequent afternoon storms plus hard water leave mineral spotting that a normal wash will not lift. Removing that safely takes longer than washing it.

Add-ons booked alongside the package. Pet hair removal runs $30 to $70, biological spill removal $40 to $80, headliner cleaning $30 to $80, and steam engine bay cleaning is $40 for a sedan, $50 for an SUV and $60 for a truck. Each one is additional hands-on work, so mention it when you book and the appointment gets scheduled with room for it instead of running past the window.

On the engine bay specifically: it is cleaned with steam, never a pressure washer. Steam is the slower method and it is the right call around wiring, sensors and connectors.

What should you have ready before we start?

A few small things on your end protect the estimate more than anything we can do on ours:

  • A parking spot with room to walk and work around all four sides of the vehicle
  • Shade or covered parking if you have it, since direct sun forces slower work on paint and glass
  • Car seats, tools, gym bags and paperwork cleared out of the interior beforehand
  • A heads-up about pet hair, spills, smoke or strong odors when you book, not when we arrive

That last one matters most. A surprise found at the start of an appointment either stretches the job or has to be pushed to another visit. Described in advance, it simply becomes part of the plan and the quote.

How long does specialty work take?

Ceramic coating, headlight restoration, one-step paint enhancement, ozone odor removal, and seat shampoo and extraction are quoted per vehicle rather than off a price list, and the same goes for the time. Every one of them depends on what the paint, the lenses or the upholstery actually look like, and naming a duration before seeing the vehicle would just be a number we would have to walk back. Send photos or describe the problem and you get a price and a realistic time window together.

Which package fits the time you have?

Work backward from your schedule. Appointments run Monday through Sunday, 8am to 6pm, across Hialeah, Miami, Miami Lakes, Doral, Miami Gardens, Kendall, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood and the rest of Broward County, roughly a 30-mile radius. A Deep Clean needs to start by early afternoon to finish inside the day, so it works best as a morning booking. A Maintenance Detail fits almost anywhere, including a long lunch break in an office lot. If you are not sure which level your car needs, describe it and we will point you to the one that matches the actual condition rather than the most expensive one on the list. You can send those details through our booking and contact page.
